The responding of your body towards any kind of challenge or danger or in other words, stressor (which stimulates feeling of stress) can be termed as stress. We feel stressed when we are under pressure. But some pressure and stress is good because it encourages you to meet challenges. But stress is good and helpful until when they start affecting your mental and physical conditions. Avoid high level of stress as too much stress can lead to psychological problems causing bad temper.
What happens when we are stressed?
· One of the major symptoms of stress is rising of blood pressure. Blood pressure rises when you are at high level of stress.
· You will experience fast breathing.
· The process of digestive system will slow down.
· You will evidence rising heart rate and your immune system will go down.
· There will be a change in your sleep pattern as you will always feel in the state of alertness.
Coping up with stress
Be happy and stress free! You deserve it. Who doesn’t want a stress free life? It is said, stress comes within, and it is your reaction to the circumstances. Stress is all about how you react in a situation. But there is always a way out with every problem. There are many things you can do to avoid stress. This will help you finding happiness no matter, how much you are wound up. Remember, stress for small time is normal, but don’t let it suppress you and your mind. You must be in want of stopping that unpleasant feeling, no doubt. Try these tips to avoid stress.
Do meditate. Meditation has a large amount of benefits as it is helpful for not only your mind but body and soul too. It will not be easy initially as there were hundreds of thoughts that would come to your mind while your eyes will be closed. But, good things come to those who wait! You will have to be patient, try 2-3 minutes at first. Then increase the time limit gradually and you will be used to it very soon.
Deep breathing and relaxation exercises will be beneficial and deal with stress. Breathing deeply will also prove favorable as it will reduce blood pressure and slow heart rate.
Go for some soothing music if you are in a worrying state. It is proved that peaceful music can help lowering blood pressure and heart rate. See, getting rid of stress is not that hard! You just have to listen to music.
Distract yourself when in stressful situation. Go outside, talk to people, and socialize yourself. Give your life an optimistic point of view.
A healthful way of life will also help reducing stress. Try to consume healthy food and acquire sufficient sleep. Work out regularly and try to lower the consumption of alcohol habits too.
Laughing yourself silly will help lowering stress hormone, ‘cortisol’ and giving you the feeling of euphoria. Cheer up yourself by reading comics or talking to friends and relatives who can you grin.
Some of you might have not noticed that the word, ‘stressed’ when read reversed, it becomes desserts. How ironical! So which word would you prefer? Stressed or desserts? Well, stress is bitter, I personally go for latter.
